Spotting a fake shark hoodie
Fakes are everywhere, so slow down on anything that looks too cheap. Check these:
- Face symmetry: real shark faces are clean and even. Fakes have crooked teeth, uneven eyes, and sloppy stitching.
- The zipper runs fully through the hood and the teeth are chunky and smooth. Cheap or misaligned zips are a red flag.
- Camo print should be sharp with consistent colour. Blurry or washed-out camo means rep.
- Tags and stitching count. Uneven stitch density and off-font labels give it away.
The fastest fake tell is still the price. A real shark hoodie for $90 is almost never real.
Where to buy and sell
Buy on Vinted and Depop where real pieces get underpriced. Sell on Grailed or eBay where Bape clears higher, and for high-ticket pieces use a platform with physical authentication so a fake can't cost you the whole buy.
